Efficiency Improvement through Automation in Hot Dog Bun Production
A leading food producer, manufacturing 13,000 hot dogs per hour, commissioned Singer & Sohn GmbH to automate the labor-intensive bun production process. The challenge was to efficiently distribute the four-lane delivery of buns into eight lanes to optimize the insertion process and reduce production time.
Singer & Sohn developed a tailored solution: the Loading System VGE. This system takes the buns from the cooling spiral, aligns them using acceleration belts, and distributes them into eight lanes. A multiple gripper then precisely inserts the sausages into the buns. The system is flexible enough to handle variations in bun quality and shape and can quickly switch to baguette production.
By implementing this system, the food producer significantly accelerated its production processes and reduced labor costs. The flexibility of the system allows for quick adaptation to different product requirements.
